FIFTYsie & FIFTY-ONEsie

Landon's 50th week post is being brought to you by:
THE FIRST STEP & THE FIRST WORD!

That's right...2 big milestones in one week. Chris and I are so excited for our little man. His first step without hanging on to anything happened when we were watching the Ravens vs. Patriots game at my in-laws' house. He was just walking along (using the couch to hold on to, of course), and just let go and took a step. We didn't freak out or anything (because we didn't want to startle him), but inside we were going nuts! He has been talking up a storm too. I mean, he has been babbling different things for months now. BUT NOW...he said "mama" and knows its me (OH-MY-GUAH...it melts my heart). He calls Chris "dada". He calls Colby "dog dog". You can tell that Landon is definitely TRYING to say words that we say. While we say all kinds of different words around Landon (we speak to him like he's a big boy...not a baby!), we do try to say words with certain syllables that he can pronounce right now (Ts, Ds, Ms, etc). Needless-to-say, this is one SUPER excited household!

During Landon's 51st week, he got to visit with his Grandpa and Me-Maw AND have his first (of MANY) 1st birthday celebrations! On Saturday, my dad and stepmom came to visit with us and help fix a few things around the house. It was a lot of fun to visit with them and they helped us cross a few things off of our to-do list for the house. On Sunday, we went to my SIL and BIL's house to celebrate a few family birthdays. SInce Landon will be 1 very soon (when did that happen?!?), he was included in this little family day. He had a great time opening his presents and visiting with family. He sure does LOVE his cousin!

Next week will be Landon's final weekly onesie post. I truly can't believe it! It's been such a fun year watching Landon learn and develop into such a smart, handsome and funny boy. I thank God daily for how blessed we are with a happy, healthy son. I love my little family!

  1. Yay Landon! Happy birthday to your little man! It's so crazy how fast time flies! Gabe will be 14 months on the ninth, it blows me away at what he's learned to do between his 1st birthday and now! Just wait girl!

  3. Brielle's first three words were Dada, Dog-Dog, and Mama (in that order - you can tell how important I am haha). So sweet that Landon's first words were the same! Now that he has the family members down, it will be so fun to see what his next few words are :)

Also yay for walking!! So exciting - it's like a whole new world.
