What's Been Up?

I know, I know. I deserve a total slap on the wrist (or maybe in the face?). I can't believe it's been almost a week since I've stopped by to chat PLUS I didn't end up posting Landon's 50sie weekly post. What got in the way you ask?

L.I.F.E.

Life comes first and this blog falls on the lower part of the importance tier. Not that I do not absolutely LOVE sharing things with you (and I love reading and responding to your comments!), but other things are more important. I would never not play with my son or dog, or not spend time with my husband over a blog post. GET REAL if you think I'd ever do that. I just blog whenever I can, and I also make sure I have something interesting to say...I don't ever post just to post. That would be SO boring.

I will have Landon's 50sie & 51sie posts combined tomorrow (get PUMPED) and there are so many updates I can't wait to share with you! Could someone be walking? Could someone be talking? WHO KNOWS!!! :)

As you know, we celebrated my hubby's birthday last week. We went out to his favorite restaurant, Bonefish, on his actual birthday and followed that with cake and gifts. I got the hubs a new gray coat for work and some Ravens swag, while my son and dog (yes, our dog gives gifts) got their daddy a special edition Ravens Super Bowl jersey. That is currently on order, but we're hoping it makes it here in time for Sunday's game!

Landon seemed to enjoy his daddy's cake.

On Saturday night, I got together with a few of my girlfriends I met when I was at Loyola getting my MBA. I love those girls and would truly go to hell-and-back for them. We can go months without seeing each other (gotta love busy schedules), and spend hours together like no time had passed whatsoever. One of the girls is preggo with their first (she's due in March!), so the other girls and I spoiled her with a few baby gifts.

Sunday we had Landon's 1st little birthday celebration with Chris's side of the family (more on that in his weekly post tomorrow!). I have been busy, busy, busy planning his 1st birthday party. All of the RSVPs are in and most of the items I need have either arrived or are on order. We can't wait! :)

What have I been loving lately?
 This, for my hair:

Seriously, it is beyond amazing. If I am feeling kinda lazy in the morning, I coat my wet hair with this styling treatment and it dries into long waves (LOVE!). Or, I spray it on before I give my hair a nice blowout. Then, it's silky and smooth. I still use my Moroccan Oil from time-to-time before blow drying, but this has become my new love. It's definitely a MUST TRY. You can pick it up at Target or I'm sure your local styling salon will have it.

As you know, I'm obsessed with finding ideas on Pinterest for our home. One of my recent pins involved a simple way to keep our shower spotless with little-to-no work! All you do is fill an Acelo wand with a mixture of half vinegar and half dawn, and just give your shower a quick scrub down before you get out! We keep the wand hanging in the shower (it's attached to the holder we already have in there for our products), so we won't ever forget to grab it to give our shower a quick clean. This little cleaning trick works wonders and I definitely recommend it!

That's all for now. I'll be back soon with all of Landon's details.
I hope you're having a great week!

  1. I've heard about the vinegar/dawn! We should probably try SOMEthing because we've really slacked on the cleaning lately... Unfortunately that's so easy to do!

  2. I love that vinegar/dawn trick. I've implemented it over here and it really works!

    I'll be rooting for y'all Ravens! :)

  3. Is your hair naturally wavy? or does the hair product add waves depending on if you scrunch it? Thanks!

    1. My hair is naturally straight, so it definitely adds waves to even the straightest of hair! :)
I usually add the product to my hair after I towel dry it, so it is a little damp. Then, it dries wavy!
